Coming Out Faithful
At PRISM, one of our special missions is to minister to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or questioning individuals who feel left out or rejected by other faith communities. Coming Out Faithful is a safe space for GLBTQ persons of any faith to discuss their faith journey and faith questions around sexuality and spirituality.
We let our community members and guests draw their own conclusions. We do not intend to re-write religious doctrine or create a new doctrine for ministry to GLBTQ people. But we hope to give a perspective on the diversity of views that exist, and create a positive, accepting faith community for GLBTQ people to continue to lead a spiritual life without fear and shame over sexuality. We do that by creating support groups like COF and gay-friendly Bible study as safe spaces for GLBTQ people to explore their faith.
PRISM co-sponsors Coming Out Faithful with the University of Colorado's Jewish Community Hillel and the Open Door Fund of Boulder County. This is a safe interfaith space to explore the dialogue sexuality and spirituality around GLBT issues.
We meet the first Tuesday of every month from 5:00-6:00pm in in the CU GLBT Resource Center in Willard Hall 227 on campus. Dinner provided!

SAFE ZONE Coming Out Faithful is a safe zone for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning people. We welcome everyone regardless of religion or spiritual path, sexuality, gender identity or expression.
